IIT DHARWAD 

Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad (IIT Dharwad or IIT DH) is an autonomous engineering and technology institute in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. IIT Dharwad started functioning from July 2016 in a temporary campus, previously of the Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) in Belur Industrial
 Area, on the outskirts of Dharwad city. It was formally inaugurated on 28 August 2016.For the academic year 2016–2017, the institute offered B.Tech courses in three branches, namely. Electrical EngineeringComputer Science, and Mechanical EngineeringThe year 2021 saw the introduction of an additional branch, Engineering physics. As of 2022, the institute expanded to provide four additional courses of study, namely Chemical and Biochemical engineeringMathematics and ComputingCivil and Infrastructure engineering, and Interdisciplinary Sciences.


KARNATAKA UNIVERSITY OF DHARWAD

Karnataka University was established at Dharwad in the Indian state of Karnataka in October 1949. It had its official inauguration in March 1950. The campus spans 750 acres (3 km2). Dr. D. C. Pavate was the vice-chancellor from 1954 to 1967. The rapid development of the institution is credited to him.

The university was recognized with the "Potential for Excellence" by the University Grants Commision. The university is the second oldest, after University of Mysore, in the state of Karnataka. The Karnataka university once used to serve most part of Karnataka like districts of Dharwad, Belagavi, Uttara Kannada, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Raichur, Bidar and Bellary till 1980's and also from 1953 to 1965 Manipal Institute of Technology and Kasturba Medical College Manipal were affiliated to Karnataka University Dharwad and all degrees were awarded by Karnataka University.
